First of all, remain calm. Hereu2019s why:In the grandest scheme of things, nothing is going wrong in our lives. Fluctuation and temporary setbacks are something we all encounter. Even the most successful people experience the same thing. In fact, they probably experience even greater fluctuations and setbacks. If things havenu2019t turned out well, it simply means the time hasnu2019t come yet. Your job is to survive until the time comes.I used to screw up my studies, put myself in unsound financial situation, and suffer from low self-esteem. That time, I felt like my life was such an unrecoverable mess. But now, Iu2019m doing just fine.Remaining calm doesnu2019t mean you sweep your issues under the rug. Instead, you openly accept the undesirable situation youu2019re in, and remain calm as you deeply understand circumstances are merely fluctuating. As long as you donu2019t give up, the days will pass.Be a modern warrior. You donu2019t have to suit up like an ancient warrior, but you do need to buckle up like a true warrior - mentally.Secondly, reflect. Hereu2019s how:No matter what happens, itu2019s important to identify and reflect the parts which we have control over.Reflect about what youu2019ve been thinking, doing or running away in the past 3 months. Do you observe any recurring pattern? Was there something holding you back? Were you crippled by irrational fear? Were you overpowered by procrastination?Do your best to reflect with radical honesty. Doing so requires courage. Itu2019s tough, and you must go through it. Remember, your past experience is one of your best mentors. Theyu2019re there to teach you something. Pay attention to them.Make sure you donu2019t turn reflection sessions into self-sabotaging sessions. Thereu2019s no use crying over split milk. You reflect to improve your current situation, not to punish your old-self. Reflect with the correct goal in mind. Most importantly, let any negative emotions flow through you, if they come up. Donu2019t suppress it. They need to be vented. You can do this. By now, you have probably understood learned something from your past behavior.Thirdly, solve the problems. Hereu2019s how:Basically, we can solve problems by addressing the problems accurately, gathering the right resource and executing well.Do those things. They are probably tough. After all, itu2019s normal to be tough, right? If all problems are easy to solve, the term u201cproblemsu201d wouldnu2019t exist. You need to swallow this bitter pill. It will serve you well in the long run. Be a Stoic who sets reasonable expectation. You may not be able to solve all the problems, but you must be able to solve at least a few of them. Solve those problems. If time is required, be patient. If money is required, be resourceful. If expertise is required, consult. If conflict is inevitable, confront it. If you have to make a hard choice, make it anyway.Do what you have to do and do it well. Do whatever it takes.Fourthly, take care of yourself. Hereu2019s how:If a ship has multiple leakages, it sinks even when the sea is calm. If a ship is strong and well-insulated, it stands a chance to survive a strong storm. You get the point.Always monitor your emotion. When things are tough, fear takes over our rationality easily. Be mindful of your inner state. Fear leads many people astray, you know. I was almost incapacitated by fear last time, but I reminded myself to be a true warrior. A warrior who stays strong, even if his comrades have been killed. Your mind is your last fortress. Protect it.Donu2019t bitterly tolerate with your situations. As you solve it, live with it. Coexist with it. Wise acceptance is required here. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Donu2019t blame the rain, dance with it.Protect your mind. Stay strong.Protect your body. Stay reasonably healthy.Make sure you do the above four things consistently. Hereu2019s why:We are creatures of habits. When momentum is built up, we deal with life issues a lot more strongly.A lot of wisdom is interwoven between those four habits above. If you want to remember all your learnings, make journals. All of us face tough situations. Let us face them with a wise dose of acceptance, right expectation and a firm mental fortress. All is well.(Image Sources: 1 and 2)
